Born 1952, lives and works Hobart
Peter began professional painting at age 28 and has exhibited for many years.
My choice of subject allows me to express how I like to interpret my subject matter whether by using a more free flowing brush stroke early, creating a modern impressionistic result, or by a more traditional detailed approach of the land and painting it how it is.
When I paint on location, observation of effects such as the changing aspects of the sky, the intense sunlight and passing shadows over a diverse countryside inspires and generates a lyrical rhythm within me, to capture the characteristics of the landscape. |
