From Mountain to Sea - Jonathan Barnard

With this work the approach was not the photo real but more a response and examination of the wide forests and bush landscape of the midlands and the stark pale profiles in the tall statuesque trees.

This work is expressive and poetic, meandering through imaginative poems of ancient pasts in this land and also a conjuring or expressing of a connectivity to the sensitivity of earth that still permeates, offering a bridging to a divide or ancient memory and the now, a connection to the annual cycles of existence. I tease a narrative etc. within, all the while conscious of the contemporary viewer.
